Red Syma S107 Remote Control Helicopter

The Syma S107 RC Helicopter is a lot of fun to fly around the house. It is perfectly suited for indoor use, and is extremely durable due to its metal frame. If you do happen to break one of the plastic pieces, replacement part kits are usually under $5. The Syma S107 is a full 3 channel RC helo, with up, down, left, right, forward, and backward maneuverability. The controller for the s107 has an alignment lever, charging and power LED indicator, and a lever to control left and right movement. The flight range on the s107 is around 30 feet, and a 25 to 30 minute charge will provide you with 8 to 12 minutes of flying time. Recharging takes place via the transmitter, or you can use a USB cable as well. The s107 helicopter is 7.5 inches in length, and can easily fit into the palm of your hand.

syma s107 video review

The Syma S107 is easy to control!

This remote control toy uses the latest in gyroscope technology to give it the perfect flight capabilities! The controller for the Syma s107 is Infrared, so you will need direct line of sight to keep it in the air. The controls are 3 channel, which basically means you have control over the yaw, power, and pitch. Flight is pretty easy to control thanks to the built in gyro. Turning movements are very responsive, but up/down and forward/back can be a little slow at times. Due to the extreme light weight characteristics of the s107, you won’t want to use it outside, as the tiniest little bit of wind can mess with it. Also, sunlight can possibly blind the infrared sensor in the helo or the remote, causing you to lose control.

The red Syma S107 is powered by a small lithium polymer battery capable of keeping the s107 in the air for up to 12 minutes at a time. Charging the helicopter via the cable from the remote is the easiest method, but this will also drain the AA batteries in the remote faster. A full charge will take about 30 minutes, and I recommend using the USB cable rather than draining the AA batteries in the remote. The rotors are hinged rather than rigid, which contributes to the overall durability of the s107. In the event of a crash, they are less likely to break since they aren’t rigid. There is also a pretty cool flashing red and blue light on the nose. Another cool feature is that the Syma S107 also comes with a few replacement parts, which will come in handy if you do happen to break something. There is also a yellow Syma S107g if red isn’t your favorite color.
